Honey is Our Passion

Brought to you by husband and wife team, Jeff and Theresa, HoneyPotDoc is a small family-owned and operated, Texas based, business providing premium honey products and bee-wellness services. Our honey is 100% local, undiluted, unprocessed and pure.

To us, honey is more than just a sweetener. Honey is truly a component of wellness and a connection to our environment.  As a Texas Master Gardner, Theresa is witness to the inseparable connection of honey bees to the change of seasons, nectar flow and pollination of vegetable gardens.

Honey from your local environment provides better support for your immune system. Pure honey is an excellent food packed full of simple carbohydrates, natural vitamins, minerals, amino acids and anti-oxidants.  It contains local pollen, which consumed orally, can help alleviate inhalant allergies. Honey can be used as a natural cure in first aid treatment for wounds, burns and cuts by absorbing moisture from the air and promote healing. Its antibacterial properties prevent infection and functions as an anti-inflammatory agent, reducing both swelling and pain, and even scarring. Honey has long been used to soothe sore throats and kill certain bacteria that causes the infection. Note:  raw, unprocessed honey should not be consumed by children under 1 year of age.

We love our honey, and we hope you will love it too! Support your local economy, improve our community and enjoy the fresh superior quality of our Brazos Valley honey.

Our Bees

We have a small, 10-hive apiary, and we are expanding. We care deeply for our bees and appreciate the significant role they play in our well-being. Converting nectar to honey is a natural science that honeybees have perfected over millennia, and we at HoneyPotDoc understand the true delicacy of this liquid gold.

Here at HoneyPotDoc, we handle our products with care, reflected in the purity that is our all-natural American honey. From beehives to bottles and to our happy customers – taste the pure difference that is HoneyPotDoc honey.

Bee Health Services

Jeff, who is an apiarist, is a licensed Veterinarian in the state of Texas and with advanced training in Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist (the study of animal diseases) and public health.

As a result of the federal Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD), honey bees now fall into the Veterinarians’ purview concerning antimicrobial medicines. The federal rule restricts beekeepers from using any medically important antibiotics in their honey bees without either a VFD order or a prescription from a veterinarian. The rule applies equally to hobbyists and commercial beekeeping enterprises.

For a VFD order or prescription to be lawful, the veterinarian and the beekeeper must have a valid Veterinarian-Client Patient Relationship. This relationship in one in which:

1. A veterinarian has assumed the responsibility for making medical judgements regarding the health of and the need for medical treatment and the client has agreed to the instructions of the veterinarian.

2. There is sufficient knowledge of the animal by the veterinarian to initiate at least a general or preliminary diagnosis of the medical condition of the animal

3. The veterinarian is available for follow-up in case of adverse reactions or failure of the regimen of therapy. The veterinarian must personally be acquainted with the keeping and care of the animal by examination and timely visits to the premises where the animals are kept.
